Iroqouis Park Overlook
About this tag
Iroquois Park was designed around exactly this payoff. Its wooded roads and paths climb through the hillside before opening onto a series of overlooks, with the summit deliberately kept clear for long views across Louisville and toward the Indiana Knobs. The North Overlook was rebuilt in 2016, raised nearly six feet and given a gentler approach, new stone seating, and restored sightlines. More than a century after the park was laid out, the basic trick still works: make people climb through the trees, then reward them at the top. Always worth it.
