Wavy Wall
About this tag
The Galt House is already a massive piece of 1970s riverfront architecture, but this wall gets unexpectedly weird. A series of broad wave-like forms interrupts the otherwise practical hotel exterior. I could not find any documented explanation for what they are supposed to mean, or whether the resemblance to river waves is intentional. That uncertainty may be the best part: one of downtown Louisville’s biggest buildings has been carrying around this odd little architectural flourish for decades without apparently feeling obliged to explain itself.
