About this tag

I had never actually seen this fountain with water, which made it feel more like a relic than a fountain. It did once earn the name: at the Belvedere’s 1973 opening, children stood in the pond and released balloons when the water was switched on. The whole plaza was heavily reworked in the 1990s, including the fountain, and now another much larger overhaul is moving toward construction. Bike Tag caught the Belvedere in an in-between era: still recognizable, increasingly worn out, and waiting to become something else again.
