The robot has a name: *I, Robot*, by Louisville artist Lonnie Walker. It’s part of Alley Gallery, a downtown project started in 2017 to turn plain metal doors and forgotten back alleys into little outdoor galleries. Music Alley got its own makeover and name the next year, with lights, painted pavement, plantings, and more artwork added between Louisville Public Media and the Mercury Ballroom. A utility door becoming a Bike Tag destination is pretty much the whole idea working as intended.
