Kentucky Lions Eye Center Statue
About this tag
This is Finis E. Davis, one of the people most responsible for the Kentucky Lions Eye Center existing in the first place. Davis was president of Lions Clubs International in 1960–61 and later led the fundraising drive that raised the first $2 million for the Kentucky Lions Eye Research Institute. He also ran Louisville’s American Printing House for the Blind for nearly 30 years, helping modernize braille production. UofL unveiled his statue here in 1999, a year after his death.
