Tunnel of Love Part 2
About this tag
A return visit to Louisville’s least official state park. “Tunnel of Love State Park” is really the Gilligan Street underpass beneath the railroad yard in Portland, a place whose grand recreational title exists mostly as local sarcasm. Daylight did not improve the amenities much: the same tunnel, the same industrial gloom, and apparently no shortage of debris. It is not a park, and romance is very much in the eye of the beholder, but the nickname has stuck well enough that Louisville people have been making the same joke about this miserable little passage for years.
