This vine-swallowed ruin sits in the industrial fringe of Butchertown near Adams Street, where old factories, storage yards, and leftover commercial buildings have long mixed with the neighborhood’s houses. Large pieces of this area have since been folded into the redevelopment around the soccer stadium, but this particular structure’s original purpose is hard to pin down. By 2023, whatever job it once had was beside the point. It had become an alarmingly convincing little piece of The Last of Us: collapsing metal, concrete, and vegetation quietly winning the argument.
