Buffalo Art Park
About this tag
Buffalo Art Park is more than a roadside oddity. The Indiana Historical Bureau marks the site as part of the Buffalo Trace, the network of paths worn by migrating bison and later used by Native peoples, settlers, stagecoaches, and eventually the road system that became U.S. 150. The historical marker at the park was erected in 1999. The giant buffalo sculptures are by New Albany artist and surveyor David Ruckman. What makes the place especially memorable as a Bike Tag is how oddly isolated it feels, tucked near the edge of I-265 on the road up to a Marriott. It was about as far out as you could push the game without starting an argument about whether you’d left Louisville altogether.
