Old Louisville Community Garden
About this tag
The Old Louisville Community Garden started in 2013 when neighbors looked at a trash-covered vacant lot beside a planned playground and decided it could do something better. It became a patchwork of raised beds, shared planting areas, and a pollinator garden, all maintained by local gardeners. Even getting vegetables into the ground took some work. Organizers had to tackle insurance, sewer fees, and thousands of dollars for a water hookup before anybody could worry about tomatoes.
