About this tag

Humana Gym was already old before UofL made it a gym. The building came from the former St. Joseph Infirmary complex, and “auditorium” is still part of its documented architectural history. UofL acquired it in 1981 and opened Humana Gym in 1983, using it for intramurals and later employee fitness. The university closed the gym in 2019 to cut costs. A couple years later, there was even a proposal to turn the old place into a wrestling academy.
