The piece on the side of Fifth Third has a proper name: Celebrate Our City, The Ville. Louisville artist Charles Rice created it in 2021, using acrylic, charcoal pencil and chalk pastel. It later became part of the exterior of the Russell branch at 15th and Broadway during a renovation of the bank. Rice has described his work as storytelling, and this one puts that approach right onto a pretty ordinary piece of neighborhood infrastructure.
