Margie is the ghost of a former corner bar. The faded “Margie’s Place” sign at 1931 W. Main was already documented by U of L’s Ghost Signs project in 2013, alongside old Falls City and Coors ads. Before the bar, this same building was apparently a feather duster factory, and more recently it’s been undergoing restoration. I couldn’t turn up who Margie actually was, but her name has done a pretty good job outlasting the business.
