“Pride Began in a Bar” was a pretty perfect window message for Trouble Bar, which opened here in 2019 with an explicit goal of making whiskey culture more welcoming. The phrase points to Stonewall, where a 1969 uprising at a gay bar helped spark the modern Pride movement and led to the first Pride march the following year. The storefront has already lived several lives since then. Trouble became Nook & Nowhere in 2025, that closed in 2026, and the space has since changed hands again.
