This little bridge is part of the Beargrass Creek Greenway, a paved route carrying bikes and walkers from the Cherokee Park area toward Irish Hill and downtown. Louisville’s own 2016 trail study described the stretch after the bridge, where the path hugs I-64, as “extremely noisy and unpleasant.” The greenway has had a rough life too. Flooding in 2018 washed away major sections of pavement and helped keep the trail closed for years before it reopened in 2021. Plans have long imagined this route eventually linking directly with the Butchertown Greenway.
