A bike posed in front of a photograph of a bike is about as on-brand as Bike Tag gets. Florence City is John Fitzgerald’s contribution to the Alley Gallery, tucked onto a service door in Cathedral Way behind Fourth Street Live. This is actually close to where the whole project began. When Alley Gallery launched in 2017, 11 of its first 16 art-covered doors were behind Fourth Street Live. The idea was to take the sort of metal doors most people walk past without noticing and turn them into an outdoor gallery. Fitzgerald is a longtime Louisville photographer whose work has ranged from commercial shoots to gallery exhibitions.
