I always forget that Reynolds Wrap is a Louisville product. The company started here in 1919 making tin and lead foil for cigarette and candy wrappers, then moved into aluminum in the 1920s. Reynolds Wrap reached household kitchens in the 1940s, and the Hale Avenue plant still produces more than 200 million pounds of aluminum foil a year. Even that familiar box has some history. Reynolds has protected its blue, silver, and pink color scheme as a trademark, with the design tracing back to 1958.
