This mural sits near Douglass Boulevard Christian Church, a corner with a surprisingly long history of peace activism. The church has worked with Interfaith Paths to Peace, and in 2022 it hosted a Guns to Gardens event where 28 unwanted firearms were dismantled, with the pieces headed for garden tools and jewelry. The Douglass Loop was also hosting regular peace vigils at least as far back as 2004.
