Radioland Mural
About this tag
Radioland wasn’t a radio station. It was a two-way-radio company that had been in business since 1972, selling and repairing communications equipment for customers including Jefferson County Public Schools. The Lexington Road storefront eventually went quiet, although Radioland’s name lingered in government licensing records years afterward. The building has somehow remained largely frozen in that state, complete with the old signage and this mural on the side. I’ve spent more time than I care to admit trying to figure out who still owns the place and why nothing has moved in.
