Muhammad Ali Childhood Home Museum
About this tag
The big downtown museum is hard to miss; the much smaller childhood home is another story. This modest Grand Avenue house is where one of Louisville’s most famous lives began, long before world championships and global fame. There is also a wonderfully accidental Bike Tag connection: his path into boxing began after his bicycle was stolen at age twelve. The house later became a museum, though today it is generally an exterior-only stop. For a bicycle game, it is hard to imagine a more fitting piece of Louisville history hiding in plain sight.
