For a long time this wall offered only the wonderfully unconvincing promise “Mural Coming Soon,” accompanied by a QR code I never trusted enough to scan. It turns out the code was legitimate, and the mural really did come. Laurie Blayney was selected for Louisville’s first floodwall mural pilot, covering the 10th Street floodwall and MSD pump station beside the westward expansion of Waterfront Park. Her design uses the Ohio River as its connecting thread, with local landscapes, wildlife, and pieces of Louisville history worked into the walls. The old teaser has finally become the thing it was advertising.
