Truth and Justice
About this tag
Those two bronze nudes are not wrestling, levitating badly, or attempting an especially dangerous trust exercise. The sculpture is Truth and Justice, created in the early 1970s by Louisville sculptor Barney Bright with help from a young Ed Hamilton. The figures are deliberately suspended in an improbable mutual balance, turning the title into a physical problem: neither truth nor justice works very well without the other holding it up. Originally installed downtown, the sculpture later moved to UofL’s Trager Plaza.
