About this tag

The colorful mural at Awry Brewing actually has a name: The Awry Bird. The Art Cartel painted it in 2023, the same year the brewery opened at Barret and Winter. Louisville’s public-art catalog describes a skeleton above a bird holding what appears to be a cherimoya fruit. The brewery name has a story too. One of the founders said getting the place open kept feeling like one step forward and two steps back, so “Awry” stuck.
