About this tag

Those “polka dots” have an actual title: Glow, by Louisville photographer and artist Keith Auerbach. It’s part of Louisville Downtown Partnership’s Street Gallery program, which wraps ordinary traffic-control boxes in work by local artists. The image isn’t painted on the box. It’s a vinyl reproduction of Auerbach’s artwork. That fits his broader abstract work, which often starts with a photograph of something real and transforms its color, light, and lines until the original subject becomes hard to recognize.
