Bulls Bike Rack
About this tag
The metal bulls fit into a very Louisville bit of downtown streetscape history. Starting in 2001, the Downtown Management District commissioned local artists to make bike parking that looked more like sculpture than ordinary racks. Another ten functional art racks went in during 2009. At this same address, Louisville’s public-art catalog lists Jen Pellerin’s 2009 painted-steel work Primative, right in the middle of that era of making bike infrastructure considerably weirder and more interesting.
