Paristown Pointe Community Garden
About this tag
The garden on the other side of this fence has been tended by Paristown Pointe neighbors since the late 1990s. It’s more food forest than tidy community plot, with blackberries, black and red raspberries, fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Neighbors have long shared what grows there, and the berry canes creeping outside the fence were fair game for picking and transplanting. When the surrounding Urban Government Center redevelopment was negotiated, the garden even made it into the deal, with $10,000 set aside for improvements.
