About this tag

This little underpass is the sort of place that exposes both the usefulness and the neglect of the Beargrass Creek Greenway. Louisville has talked for years about making this corridor part of a continuous off-street route between Cherokee Park and the river, while its own planning documents have flagged lighting, safety, and connectivity as persistent concerns. Sometime after this tag, a metal rail appeared here. I still have no idea whether it was installed for skateboarders, to discourage people from resting underneath the bridge, or for some more mundane reason. Either way, it became another strange little layer in a trail that has never quite received the attention it deserves.
