UASC stood for United Arab Shipping Company, a container line founded in 1976 by six Gulf states. The company disappeared as an independent carrier when it merged with Hapag-Lloyd in 2017, so by 2024 this green container was already carrying a defunct shipping brand. It sits beside Mellwood Tavern, whose history goes back even further. The building has operated as a tavern under various names since 1885.
