Givaudan doesn't Giveadamn
About this tag
Six months after the fatal November 2024 explosion at Givaudan’s Payne Street plant, the wreckage was still sitting in Clifton. Neighbors had plenty of reasons to be frustrated, including slow repairs, compensation problems, and unanswered questions, though the ruins themselves were also being held up by the federal investigation and evidence preservation. Full demolition wouldn’t begin until January 2026. Investigators later found that a runaway reaction inside a caramel-coloring reactor overwhelmed its pressure-relief system and ruptured the vessel.
