The LongTail Building
About this tag
This old Fourth Street building spent years as the Whirlaway Tavern, named for the 1941 Triple Crown winner nicknamed “Mr. Longtail.” Its recent restoration kept a lot of the building’s older character instead of sanding everything flat, including brick, glass block, timber, and recreated ghost signs from earlier lives as a grocery and bank. The new LongTail name keeps one foot in the horse-racing past while the building now houses startup and event space.
