UofL calls her Freedom’s Muse, but generations of students have had other ideas. “Twinkles” and “Library Dancer” are both university-documented nicknames, along with a tradition of rubbing the bronze for good luck during finals and adding scarves in winter. Former Arts and Sciences adviser Julia Lewis bought the Richard Hallier sculpture at the St. James Art Fair in 1998 and donated it to the university, where it settled in by Ekstrom Library.
