Main Street itself was new here. Clarksville rebuilt old Woerner Avenue and renamed it in 2021 as the spine of a downtown the town had never really had. Around Water Tower Square, developers followed with seating, Wi-Fi, landscaping, yard-game space and other little reasons to stop instead of just pass through. This colorful light-and-seating area was part of that shift toward making South Clarksville feel like an actual gathering place. The nearby Central Green later became a regular spot for free concerts and community events.
