This amphitheater came out of Iroquois High’s hands-on construction education. Students in the ACE Mentor Program helped conceive the project, then worked with teachers and industry mentors as it moved from an idea to a real outdoor performance space. A Lowe’s grant helped get the first phase started in 2013, and the amphitheater officially opened in 2017. It’s a pretty literal example of career training leaving something permanent behind on the school grounds.
