The cow outside Payne Street Bakehouse is often dressed in seasonal decorations and has become a wayfinding landmark. The bakery itself goes back to Nancy’s Bagel Grounds, which started making bagels in Louisville in 1996 and moved here under new ownership in 2018. The cow apparently came with its own job: make sure nobody misses the place.
