Those peculiar arches actually have a purpose. They’re the pavilion and picnic area beside Roosevelt Apartments, and in 2018 Louisville Visual Art and New Directions turned them into a community art project with artist Danny Seim and students from Western Middle School. The building beside them has an older life too. It was Theodore Roosevelt School by at least 1923 before eventually becoming apartments.
