Catalpa Tree
About this tag
The tagger threw down a challenge with this one: “Catalpa trees are the best trees convince me otherwise.” There’s a decent case. Catalpas tolerate city conditions and drought, grow huge heart-shaped leaves, and put out clusters of white flowers followed by long hanging seed pods. They also host catalpa worms, traditionally prized as fishing bait. The opposition has one strong argument, though. They drop those giant leaves, twigs and pods everywhere and have a reputation for losing branches in storms.
