The Pendennis Club has occupied this grand downtown clubhouse since 1928 and carries plenty of Louisville history, including a famously disputed claim to the invention of the Old Fashioned. None of that was the important part of this Bike Tag. The important part was a carefully positioned shoe blocking just enough of the club’s name to turn a very respectable private institution into something considerably less respectable. Sometimes the entire historical landmark is just setup for one dumb visual joke.
