Mile 21 is where the Louisville Loop offers one of its better detours: down the levee toward Mike Linnig’s. Metro’s own Loop plan calls the restaurant a popular destination for bicyclists and families, so the fried-fish connection is practically part of the route. Mike Linnig’s started in 1925 as a roadside fruit and vegetable stand and was in its 101st season when this tag was placed. Not every mile marker comes with onion rings.
