Honors House
About this tag
“Honors House” sounds like a building that was always part of campus, but it started life in 1900 as a private home. In 1939 it became the Louisville School of Art, later passed to the University of Louisville, and spent time as an art center and Fine Arts Building before taking on its current academic role. It is one of those campus buildings whose plain present-day name quietly conceals several completely different lives.
