Shawnee Park Bandstand
About this tag
Bike Tag could probably publish a coffee-table book of bicycles posed against brick walls by now. At least this one has some pedigree. Shawnee Park’s bandstand shows up in UofL photos from 1930, with the same basic structure serving a park that was already known for concerts and performances. It describes the building as a Greek Exedra-style, semicircular bandstand with columns, brick construction, and a drinking fountain built into the rear wall. So the brick backdrop at least belongs to a real and fairly old park feature, rather than another completely anonymous Louisville wall.
