Bowman Field Wine & Spirits (and planes)
About this tag
Bowman Field Wine & Spirits commits pretty thoroughly to the airport across Taylorsville Road. The airplane mural continues around the drive-through, where the message is “FLY ON THRU.” Bowman Field has been operating since 1920 and is one of the country’s longest-running general-aviation airports. Charles Lindbergh landed the Spirit of St. Louis there in 1927 before a crowd of about 10,000, and the field later became a major military training center during World War II.
