A bear in the front yard of a Schnitzelburg house is odd enough. Posting a “DON’T FEED THE BEAR” warning beside it finishes the joke. I couldn’t find any documented artist, origin story, or deeper explanation for the statue at 1600 Texas Avenue, so this one may simply be somebody’s excellent commitment to yard decor. The house itself dates to 1923, on a street that once carried the old Schnitzelburg trolley loop.
