I never found a proper name for this little pedestrian bridge, but its job is more interesting than its anonymity suggests. It links Eva Bandman Park into the Butchertown Greenway and the larger riverfront trail network, crossing what looks like an ordinary stretch of Beargrass Creek. That stretch is not ordinary at all: it is part of the artificial channel dug in the 1850s to reroute the creek away from downtown and send it to its present mouth at the Ohio. A nameless bike-and-foot bridge over a man-made river course feels appropriately Louisville.
