The graffiti dog lived on the back wall of Galerie Hertz, which Billy Hertz founded in 1991 and moved to this South Preston building in 2008. The gallery became one of Louisville’s longest-running independent art spaces, while the building itself dates to about 1911. Galerie Hertz eventually closed in January 2026 after roughly 35 years, so this little back-wall clue now points to a gallery that’s no longer there.
