About this tag

The circles looked enough like giant Lego studs to make this wall the clue. They belong to Spalding’s library, which opened in 1967 when the school was still called Catherine Spalding College. The name changed to Spalding College just two years later, then Spalding University in 1984. Whatever the architect intended with all those circles, they’ve outlasted a couple of institutional name changes.
