About this tag

The woman-with-flowers mural was around back of Hilltop Tavern, which occupied this old Frankfort Avenue corner from 2012 until 2025. The building’s bar history goes back much further. It was a grocery as early as 1887, later an A&P, then a run of cafés and taverns. Hilltop also had Chris Chappell’s better-known animal mural on another wall, but I haven’t found a reliable artist credit for this rear piece. Clifton Tavern moved into the building in 2026.
