These photos were leftovers from the 2023 Louisville Photo Biennial’s first Paste-Up Mural Project, or PUMP. About 60 photographs were wheat-pasted around Louisville and Southern Indiana to put the Biennial outside the galleries. Five landed on 21c, where their installation even required an after-the-fact historic-district approval. They were meant to be temporary, but durable enough to last a year or more, so the outdoor exhibition was still hanging around months after the Biennial itself had ended.
