Big Bar opened on Bardstown Road in 2012, and for its first decade the name was something of a running joke. The original bar had only about 500 square feet of usable space. In 2022 it finally expanded into the former Wine Market next door, adding a dance floor, second bar and upstairs lounge. So by the time this was tagged, Big Bar had only recently become substantially less ironic.
