Louisville Water Company Fountain
About this tag
The fountain is part of Louisville Water’s 1998 headquarters, where architect Rick Kremer worked water references into the whole building. The blue glass suggests water, the curved front wall wraps around the fountain, and there’s another reflecting pool inside. Louisville Water itself goes back much farther, supplying the city with drinking water since 1860 as Kentucky’s first public water provider. Even after the company moved here, its old Third Street site kept a trace of the connection. The Omni hotel that replaced it named its pool area “The Water Company.”
